Details: According to sources in the special services, the facility supporting the operations of Russian troops was attacked around midnight local time, with all four UAVs hitting their targets.
Residents of Kstovo are reporting at least three explosions at the facility on social media. At the same time, sources within the Defense Forces assert that there were four strikes on the territory of the oil depot.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the oil depot sustained significant damage as a result of the attack, with all four UAVs launched at the enemy facility reaching their targets.
Local Russian communities are sharing videos of a massive fire at the oil depot.
As noted by the head of the CPD NSDC Andrey Kovalenko, the oil refinery in Kstovo, which was targeted, is capable of processing between 15 and 17 million tons of oil annually. It is considered the fourth largest in Russia and produces gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene, and bitumen. It is crucial for the Russian army.
The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, acknowledged the drone attack, but stated that the debris from the UAV fell onto the territory of one of the enterprises in the Kstovo industrial zone.
Russian propagandists claim that the facility "SIBUR-Kstovo" was attacked.
Updated. Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the oil refinery in the city of Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia.
Specifically: "Units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in coordination with other elements of the Defense Forces, struck the Nizhny Novgorod oil refinery (Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia) on the night of January 29, 2025."
