Details: According to the investigation, the judge rented an apartment but stopped paying rent after two months and did not allow the owner access to her property for six months. At the same time, he filed a civil lawsuit in another district court in Dnipro, demanding recognition of his ownership rights to the property. A colleague of the suspect granted the claim and recognized the apartment as his property.

As evidence in court, a forged receipt from the property owner was used, which allegedly confirmed that she received 412,000 hryvnias for the sale of the apartment. However, the woman stated that she had not received any money and had not signed any documents.

Handwriting analysis confirmed her claims: the signature on the receipt was found to be fraudulent. Another examination established that the actual market value of the apartment is nearly 1 million hryvnias.

Additionally, during searches of the judge’s premises, law enforcement seized a mobile phone containing data that corroborated the fact of illegal acquisition of the property.

The judge has been notified of suspicion under part 2 of article 384 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misleading the court) and part 5 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud in especially large amounts).

The penalties for these articles include up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
