In Kyiv, a state bank official was detained for allegedly "donating" to the Russian army.

The security service apprehended the director of the Information Systems Support Department at one of Ukraine's state banks in Kyiv, who is involved in financing Russia's war against Ukraine.

Details: According to the investigation, the individual regularly transferred his funds to support the needs of the Russian occupation groups.

As reported by UP, he is an official at "Sens-Bank", formerly "Alfa-Bank".

After the onset of the full-scale war, the banker opened an account on one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.

Subsequently, through this platform, the individual transferred funds to the digital wallets of Russians. Law enforcement is currently determining the exact amounts of his "donations".

According to the case materials, the Ukrainian banker received information about fundraising for the occupiers through thematic Telegram channels.

SSU officers documented the official's crimes and arrested him at his residence in Kyiv.

During a search of the arrested individual's home, a Russian citizen passport and Russian rubles were found.

The perpetrator is being held in custody without the right to bail. He faces up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
