Details: The February 21 issue of The New York Post featured a large portrait of Putin on the front page with the headline: "President Trump: Here’s Who the Dictator Is."
The article, written in a column format by Douglas Murray, presents "10 facts about the Ukrainian-Russian war that we ignore at our own peril."
The first fact states that Vladimir Putin initiated this war, "despite what Trump said just a few days ago."

The author notes that Trump is absolutely correct that the war "should never have started," but emphasizes that it was Putin, not Zelensky, who started the war.
Murray also points out that the dictator is Vladimir Putin.
"Putin has ruled Russia with an iron fist since he came to power in 1999. He has ruthlessly suppressed independent media, ended free and fair elections, decimated civil society, and assassinated his political opponents. Not just in Russia, but around the world. People living in Russia who voice any opposition to the war end up in prison," the article states.
Zelensky, the author emphasizes, is not a dictator but a politician who won the presidential elections in 2019, which were relatively free and fair.
"His approval rating stands at 57%, not 4% as claimed by Trump. Unlike Russia, Ukraine has active independent media that hold the government accountable – despite contrary claims from internet trolls and Russian bots," the publication notes.
"Regardless of whether Zelensky is re-elected in Ukraine or not, Putin will always be re-elected in Russia. Because his elections are a fraud, a show. Putin has never won a free and fair election in his life. Because he doesn’t hold them," the author adds.
In 2017, it was reported that the New York Post is Donald Trump's favorite newspaper, and he maintains frequent contact with its owner Rupert Murdoch.
What preceded: Vladimir Zelensky, responding to statements by Donald Trump regarding his alleged 4% support among Ukrainians, noted that Trump has become a victim of Russian disinformation.
After that, Trump called the Ukrainian president a dictator and stated that Zelensky must act quickly if Ukraine wants to survive as a country.
