The claim that "Trump is Putin's man" is just nonsense for fools, according to Roman Ponomarenko.

Historian and author Roman Ponomarenko discusses Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. elections.
Заявление о том, что "Трамп - человек Путина", - это миф для наивных, считает Роман Пономаренко.

Trump returns to the White House. This is very positive for the USA and Western civilization. But what about Ukraine?

We must understand that the current situation is a direct path to military defeat. The lion's share of responsibility for this lies with the Biden administration, which has offered us only one strategy over three years of war – a prolonged war of attrition against a country that surpasses us in natural resources, population, and has allies willing to supply it with weapons and cannon fodder. In other words, "we will occasionally throw you some weapons, and you fight as you know how." There are no guarantees, no other accountability, and no system in place to protect Ukraine from destruction and ensure victory and lasting peace.

Trump is a real "dark horse" in the issue of the Ukraine-Russia war. Claims that "Trump is Putin's man" are fairy tales for fools. However, he is also not a friend of Ukraine. No one knows how Trump will act – not even he himself. There are several scenarios, both positive and not so much, and the realization of each depends on a multitude of factors, so it makes little sense to discuss them now. What can be assured is the increase in the production of various weapons in the USA. Trump's campaign has been actively funded by defense contractors, and debts will need to be repaid.

Believing Trump's statement "I will end the war" before he officially takes office is a great naivety, if not foolishness. The Kremlin understands this perfectly well, which is why they will now intensify pressure on all fronts. In recent weeks, Russians have repeatedly emphasized that "entire military operations will definitely be carried out by military means." Therefore, on the other side of the front, everything is already clear – for Moscow, there are currently no alternatives to continuing the war.
