Two sages in one basin
Set out to sea in a storm
Elon Musk, who participated in a recent conversation between Trump and Zelensky, commented on Newsweek's report that Trump plans to establish an 800-mile demilitarized zone along the front line between Russia and Ukraine, where British and European forces would be stationed:
"Soon, senseless killings will come to an end. The time for war igniters and speculators is over." The Wall Street Journal reported that this "peace plan" entails securing the territories occupied by Russia, creating a buffer zone along the front line, and halting Ukraine's integration into NATO for 20 years. This is evidently what Trump and Musk intend to propose to Putin, and they are confident in its success.
The deal is treacherous and deceitful. However, this is not even the main issue—it is utterly unfeasible. Trump and Musk are indeed hopeless "sages." Apparently, they do not understand that Putin will obviously not agree to such a "peace" option, which involves the deployment of NATO troops not only on Ukrainian territory but even in the part that Russia has formally annexed. He will simply laugh in the "sages'" faces. Rather, he will first demand the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Kursk region, and then deceive and present an ultimatum demanding Ukraine's actual capitulation. These are his terms for "peace," and he does not intend to hide them.
If the "two sages in one basin," Trump and Musk, need such a lesson, let them receive it. Perhaps they will understand something, get offended, and start taking action against the St. Petersburg swindler (although, unfortunately, I seriously doubt it).
