A week ago, the imperial defense minister announced that, at Putin's directive, a new branch of the military will be established in the swamps – the unmanned systems forces.
This will be more than our current Unmanned Systems Forces because, firstly, a separate branch has a higher status, and its commander will have more authority.
Secondly, judging by the tidbits of information that have leaked online, the adversary does not intend to replicate our approach of grouping all drone operators of the Armed Forces under the new branch.
The unmanned systems forces are being created as a strike branch, similar to missile forces, but armed with strike drones, primarily of medium and long range.
In fact, the imperial forces are not planning to create anything from scratch — structures of this new branch already exist within the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation and will now be formalized into a separate organization.
Unfortunately, our drone operator units are scattered across various military branches and law enforcement agencies; we lack a unified command for long-range drone bombings, which is one reason why we are losing the air war in terms of the number of drones launched that hit their targets.
The enemy is learning from our mistakes. Yet we are not.
