Дэниел Крейг отклонил предложение сыграть главную роль в новом фильме DC "Сержант Рок".

Daniel Craig will not be joining the DC cinematic universe. The actor has turned down the lead role in the film "Sergeant Rock" - an adaptation of the DC comic, directed by Luca Guadagnino ("Queer") with a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes. This was reported by Variety, as conveyed by UNN.

Details

Rumors about Craig's potential involvement surfaced back in November, but, as the source notes, he never officially agreed to participate in the filming.

DC Studios has not commented on this information.

What is the film about?

Sergeant Rock is not a superhero, but the commander of Easy Company, which fought in Europe during World War II.

"Eventually, he even becomes the chief of staff for Lex Luthor," the report states.

DC Studios executives James Gunn and Peter Safran plan to make the film a classic war drama and are already searching for a new actor for the lead role.

Meanwhile, Craig has several new projects ahead:

- "Wake Up Dead Man" - the third installment of the detective franchise "Knives Out," where Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc.

- "Two for the Money" - a film directed by Justin Lin, where his co-star will be Charlize Theron.

Guadagnino's Plans

The director is not slowing down:

- His thriller "After the Hunt" starring Julia Roberts is set to release in October.

- He is also working on a new adaptation of "American Psycho" featuring Austin Butler.

- Another of his projects is "Separate Rooms," an adaptation of a novel about a gay romance, with Josh O'Connor in the lead role.
