A Latvian film has made history by winning its first-ever Oscar.

The animated film "Stream: The Last Cat on Earth," produced in Latvia, won the award for "Best Feature Animation." It previously also received a Golden Globe.

The film produced in Latvia has won the prestigious Academy Award ("Oscar") for the first time. The animated feature "Flow. The Last Cat on Earth" triumphed in the category of "Best Animated Feature," reports UNN.

Other nominees for the coveted "golden statuette" included animated films "Inside Out 2," "Wallace & Gromit 2," "The Wild Robot," and "The Snail's Memoir."

Previously, the animated film "Flow. The Last Cat on Earth" received a "Golden Globe" for Best Animated Feature.

"Flow. The Last Cat on Earth" is an adventure animated film in the "fantasy" genre directed by Gints Zilbalodis. The plot unfolds after an uncontrollable surge of water alters the lives of every living creature on the planet.
