The city authorities have supported a petition calling for a ban on the construction of an underground parking lot on Staro-Kyiv Mountain near the Landscape Alley in the capital.
This is stated in the response to petition No. 13302, reports UNN.
Details
In the petition, the community of the "Honchary-Kozhumiaky" area and residents of V. Zhytomyrska Street addressed Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko, requesting a halt to the construction disguised as a parking lot on Kiyanyvskiy Lane and the destruction of the historical monument of Staro-Kyiv Mountain near Landscape Alley.
In his response, Klitschko noted his support for the initiative.
He also mentioned that according to the electronic document management system of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration, the project documentation for architectural transformations within the detailed plan of the area on Kiyanyvskiy Lane in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv has not been approved by the department, and no permits for the work have been issued. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine reacted to the plans of the Kyiv City State Administration for the construction of an underground parking lot on Staro-Kyiv Mountain, which is part of Ukrainian culture and history, emphasizing that the destruction of a national archaeological monument is unacceptable.
On the website of the Kyiv City Council, a draft decision "On the approval of the detailed plan of the territory on Kiyanyvskiy Lane in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv" has been registered, which was supported on November 13 by the permanent commission of the KCSA on architecture, urban planning, and land relations.
According to the detailed plan, which still needs to be approved by the city council, the construction of a parking lot and dual-purpose structures with protective properties against radiation shelter at Kiyanyvskiy Lane, 13-21 is planned, providing 320 parking spaces (the capacity of the shelter is 1650 spaces) to serve visitors of the adjacent park zone and surrounding public establishments and institutions, as well as residents of nearby residential buildings.
Additionally, the construction of a pedestrian bridge from Landscape Alley to the elevator planned to be installed as part of the underground parking lot is also envisaged as a measure to ensure accessibility for people with limited mobility.
