UNESCO has responded to the letter from the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, condemning Russia's strikes on Odesa that occurred on November 14, 2024. This was reported by UNN, citing the ombudsman's message on Telegram.
As a result of the attack, 21 architectural and urban planning monuments, located within the historical center of Odesa, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its buffer zone, were damaged.
The organization has called for an end to attacks on cultural heritage protected by international legal instruments. Additionally, UNESCO conducted a remote damage assessment and sent a mission to Odesa to evaluate the destruction.

That as a result of the Russian attack on November 14, numerous architectural monuments in the historical center of Odesa were damaged. Among the affected sites are buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries. Additionally, 8 people were injured, including a 9-year-old child; residential buildings, vehicles, and a heat supply line that provided heating for 220 apartment buildings were also damaged.
