“I have the impression that I live in some kind of parallel world, because the commander-in-chief says we need to strengthen fortifications, while his own people, his subordinates, held a press conference a few days ago and stated that we have no problems with fortifications in any direction. I don’t know how he communicates with them, but it generally seems like a painful approach to state matters,” emphasizes Dmitry Razumkov.

According to him, fortifications do exist, but they are constructed differently; some are just terrible, while others are well-built, yet there is nothing within a few meters of them, allowing the enemy to advance in those areas, as was the case in the Kharkiv direction. As the program guest highlights, this is a matter of both corruption and process organization, as well as inadequate decisions made in 2022-2023, when fortifications were not constructed because we were focused on counteroffensives.

Of course, he states, accountability must be taken; we have a president, a staff, a commander-in-chief, and the entire army, but you won't find anyone ultimately responsible. Specifically, the guest explains that the issue lies in the fact that funds were allocated to all military administrations across the country, including Lviv, to work on fortifications in Donetsk, when it would have been more logical to direct the funds to Donetsk itself, allowing them to engage the Lviv business community directly.

“This should be the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense, so there is one entity that can be held accountable later, because we currently have two wagons and a cart of such entities, and no one can answer who is responsible for what and how,” summarizes Dmitry Razumkov.
