“On the wall, there was a message when the Russians entered Samachablo, Tskhinvali: ‘Georgians, learn to fight, we will come again.’ When we finally crossed into Russian territory, our guys wrote: ‘We have already learned to fight and we are already here,’” shares Kakha Basiliya.

As he explains, Georgia has about 3.5 million people, similar to Kyiv, and it was impossible to contend with such a vast black force as Russia. The soldier recalls the year 1992, the Russian aggression in Abkhazia, noting that only one country, Ukraine, provided financial and human resources to Georgia during that time, so it was gratifying to assist the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk.

“We need a taste of victory. You understand, we need some motivation. It is very difficult when you sit in the trenches for a year or two just defending; it becomes tiresome. And when there is an opportunity that you are not just sitting in defense somewhere, but actually moving into the aggressor's territory, having that chance is a huge motivation,” explains Kakha Basiliya.

Thus, the program guest asserts that starting the Kursk operation is a very correct decision from a psychological standpoint, as it demonstrated that Ukraine can not only defend itself in trenches but also enter enemy territory and achieve victories there.
