Nikolai Tomenko stated that Russia, alongside Ukrainian officials, is waging a battle against Ukraine's history.

It so happened that both predecessors and especially the current authorities have not considered and do not consider the ideological struggle for a national version of the HISTORY OF UKRAINE to be a matter of great importance.

Moscow-Russia first falsified our history through state commissions during the times of Peter and Catherine, rewriting texts of documents, and now the head of the terrorist state personally positions himself as the main historian of all the states of “Holy Rus.” At the same time, our own money-loving grant-seeking historians are ready to justify any whims of their sponsors. As a result, we have a weak Holodomor and the struggle on OUR land for our language, state, and faith is deemed incorrect and illegal. For such a history, neighboring and other friendly countries pay money!

And what about our officials?

They adhere to the legacies of Kaganovich-Stalin. As Alexander Dovzhenko wrote in his “Diary”:

“The only country in the world where the history of this country was not taught in universities, where history was considered something forbidden, hostile, and counter-revolutionary – is Ukraine. There is no other such country on the globe.”

During the times of newfound Independence, various tobacco merchants attempted to censor the content of textbooks on humanitarian disciplines, and since 2009, Euro-optimist ministers decided to completely eliminate the subject “history of Ukraine” in universities and replace it with “history of Ukrainian culture.” At that time, we managed to prevent this, and Minister of Education Ivan Vakarchuk rejected this idea. Minister Kvit, along with his deputy Sovsun, did manage to expel the history of Ukraine from universities, claiming that this brought Ukrainian education closer to European standards.

But that’s not all. During the bloody war of the Russian horde against our history, language, and statehood in 2023, the “servants of the people” together with the deputies of the banned pro-Russian party canceled the mandatory subject “history of Ukraine” for admission to universities. “History of Ukraine” was removed from the list of compulsory subjects, and the topics of test questions finally reached ancient history (prior to this, our national history began with the 16th century).

However, the struggle against the history of Ukraine by the reformers and dual citizens with the Ministry of Education and Science did not end there. Currently, Lesny and Co. are announcing a reform whereby the school subjects “history of Ukraine” and “world history” will be combined into one course.

I won't even mention the preservation of the imperial-Soviet approach to the teaching of many humanitarian disciplines. Thus, educational officials still believe it is correct to maintain the course “History of the State and Law” (created back in the Russian Empire when the state dominated over law), rather than introducing, say, a course on “History of Ukrainian Law.”

With sadness, I also remind you that according to the Presidential Decree of August 24, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers, along with the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Legal Sciences, and the National Institute for Strategic Studies (all funded from the budget) must prepare a draft strategy for the protection, preservation, and promotion of the HISTORY OF UKRAINIAN STATEHOOD, approve this strategy, and determine measures for its implementation.

And what have you done over these 3.5 years?

You have done everything in reverse equality.
