On the Day of the State Emblem of Ukraine, Mykola Tomenko, a professor at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law at the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, presented his new book, which covers key aspects of Ukraine's history and constitutional structure. The book introduces readers to outstanding Ukrainians, cultural symbols of our nation, and UNESCO heritage sites.
“It is crucial to cultivate an educated, responsible, and patriotic citizen today, as this is how we build a strong state. This book compiles the fundamental concepts that every Ukrainian should know. I am sincerely grateful to the Academy for supporting this initiative and assisting in the publication of the book,” the author noted.
Joining the presentation were Major General of the Security Service of Ukraine Valeriy Kartavtsev, who served as acting rector of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine from 2003 to 2004, Yuriy Savchuk, the general director of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II, and Vitaliy Kotsur, the rector of Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav.
The rector of the Academy, Andriy Chernyak, emphasized the uniqueness of the work and stated that the facts presented in the book should be known by every conscious citizen, as the “Alphabet of a Citizen of Ukraine” also debunks imposed myths and pseudo-historical theories about our state and helps to form a patriotic worldview.
“It is very important that the presentation of the publication took place on the Day of the State Emblem of Ukraine here at the Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, where the atmosphere of patriotism and national consciousness is undoubtedly felt,” added historian Yuriy Savchuk.
“I recommend this book to all citizens of Ukraine. It not only fosters a patriotic mindset but also broadens knowledge about our state. It is especially gratifying to see that the Academy places such great importance on educating the youth,” emphasized Vitaliy Kotsur.
At the end of the event, Mykola Tomenko presented signed copies of the “Alphabet of a Citizen of Ukraine” to cadets of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine who achieved prize-winning places in competitions and Olympiads in the Ukrainian language and history.
