The deceased was Alexander Kanazirskiy, an entrepreneur from Odessa and the deputy head of public utilities for the Southern City Council of the Odessa region.
This was captured by surveillance cameras. The individual who used a weapon against the deceased is Dmitry Rashevsky, known by the call sign Rashik, an athlete from Zaporizhia, who reportedly has a history of criminal connections.
It has been established that Rashevsky is serving in one of the assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and holds a combat veteran status. The day after the altercation, Rashevsky voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement and is currently in custody. This information has been confirmed by police sources. New details and video footage of the conflict at the Sky Loft hotel restaurant were released the day before.
Surveillance recordings from the hotel reveal that at least four other individuals, besides Rashevsky, were armed in the restaurant that evening. This specifically refers to a group of people who initiated a second altercation with Rashevsky.
The cameras recorded how, just minutes before the fatal shot, the men retrieved weapons from their bags, reloaded them, and clearly intended to approach the detained individual. Upon getting close to Rashevsky, along with an acquaintance, the young men provoked a new fight, knocked both of them to the ground, and began to beat them. A shot was fired during the scuffle. Half an hour prior, Rashevsky attempted to leave the premises at the request of the establishment’s security due to a conflict with a restaurant guest. However, at the exit, he was shot and struck in the jaw – he was unconscious for over 5 minutes.
It is known that, in addition to Dmitry Rashevsky, several other individuals are currently involved in the initiated criminal case. Their names have not been officially disclosed. However, according to one of the attendees at the restaurant that evening, the initial conflict, which occurred at the bar, arose between Rashevsky and a young man whom his friends refer to as Faddey. His likely surname is Melnychuk. He was the one who struck Rashevsky in the jaw, causing him to lose consciousness.
The young man, as a regular patron of the establishment, moves with his own security (it is evident that these are the individuals who surrounded him at the bar during his visit and participated in the fight). A woman indicated that this was not the first altercation involving this young man at Sky Loft – he has previously provoked similar confrontations while under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
Charges have been brought against the aforementioned individual, and it remains unclear whether the investigation has attempted to establish his identity.
