Firstly, the expert notes that the West is not providing Ukraine with real assistance because Ukraine must first exert itself to achieve victory. As he explains, this involves stopping the rampant corruption, establishing military management, overall governance of the country, and confirming the legitimacy of power – a series of tasks that Ukraine needed to address.

“Therefore, the victory plan is not truly a plan for victory by many measures. At the very least, I would mention the first point – no one should know about it, as it is a secret matter; the algorithm for how to defeat the enemy should not be announced to the world or presented publicly, because the enemy also hears and prepares,” emphasizes Sergiy Hayday.

He also recalls how, from the beginning of 2023 until summer, we all discussed how we would advance, where we would attack, how we would reach Crimea and defeat the Russians, but the Russians were also preparing, building the Surovikin line, mining the approach routes, and nothing came of it. In contrast, regarding the Kursk operation, the expert notes that we did not announce it to anyone, which is why it turned out to be so successful.

“Thus, the defense plan should look something like this: what exists and what you understand is already being implemented should stem from the fact that the first results have emerged. You are simply doing it without asking anyone. And most importantly – you do not present it, you do not ask anyone for help, you do not set conditions, and you do not say that if our allies assist us, then we will achieve victory. You are simply doing it, relying on yourself,” concludes Sergiy Hayday.
