Svetlana Grinchuk shared insights from her meeting with partners from Denmark, focusing on crucial topics in energy and water supply.

The head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Svitlana Hrynchuk, shares this on her Facebook page. We present the author's words without any commentary.
Светлана Гринчук поделилась впечатлениями о встрече с датскими партнерами, обсудив ключевые вопросы в области энергетики и водоснабжения.

Denmark is among the countries with which dialogue continued immediately after the joint work at the COP29.

During a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, a number of pressing issues requiring international investment were discussed. In particular, drinking water supply and the construction of additional channels. Denmark understands this problem firsthand, as the country has experience in assisting the city of Mykolaiv with water supply by creating emergency water supply stations in 2022. Today, water supply, along with military assistance to Ukraine, remains a priority in the collaboration between our nations.

I shared details about our government program for water supply, aimed at ensuring access to drinking water for residents in frontline regions. This issue has become especially urgent following the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.

We also touched upon the prospects for developing renewable energy in Ukraine. This is extremely important, as Russian armed aggression often leaves critical infrastructure without electricity due to constant shelling. In discussions with Lars Aagaard, the Minister of Climate, Energy, and Utilities of the Kingdom of Denmark, he emphasized the exceptional opportunities presented by the Chernobyl exclusion zone for the development of this sector.

I thank the Kingdom of Denmark for its immense support to Ukraine and for backing our initiatives on the international stage, without waiting for the end of hostilities. Mikkelsen assured that Ukraine can count on Denmark's comprehensive support in the context of its presidency in the European Commission in the second half of 2025.

I am grateful to Ambassador Ole Egberg Mikkelsen for a productive conversation. The ambassador has repeatedly highlighted in his interviews that Danes still remember the times when Denmark was a frontline state. The Danish and Ukrainian peoples value the same principles—freedom, democracy, and human rights. I hope our shared values will evolve into joint projects.
