Yulia Tymoshenko aims to cut 10 billion UAH in excess profits from pharmaceutical monopolies and reduce drug prices.

Led by Yulia Tymoshenko, the parliamentary committee has unveiled a plan to reduce drug prices by eliminating the artificial monopoly held by two intermediary companies that earn an excess profit of 10 billion hryvnias each year.
Юлия Тимошенко избавит фармрынок от монополистов, отобрав у них 10 млрд грн сверхприбыли и сделает лекарства более доступными.

With this amount of money, all hospitals in the country could be supplied with free medications.

The Tymoshenko Bloc has prepared legislative changes aimed at eliminating inflated prices in pharmacies. According to these changes:

- a single intermediary will not be allowed to purchase more than 15% of the produced medications;
- pharmacies will acquire medical drugs through Prozorro;
– high-quality certified medications produced in the EU, USA, and Canada will be available to Ukrainians without additional registration.
The proposed plan will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada this week, as Yulia Tymoshenko previously promised.

The leader of the "Batkivshchyna" party is convinced that implementing these measures will significantly reduce the prices of medications, which currently can be 2-3 times higher than those in European countries.
