In Kharkiv, search efforts are underway for a teenager who may be trapped under the rubble. It has also been confirmed that a child, a 12-year-old boy, has lost his life.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to him, the boy, who turned 12 in September, died under the debris of a nine-story building in the Saltivskyi district. Fragments of the body of a person who has been preliminarily identified have been found at the scene.
Additionally, the head of the administration stated that another 15-year-old boy is also trapped under the rubble.
"At this moment, one person has died. 34 have sustained injuries. The rescue operation is ongoing. The search efforts are complicated by significant structural damage to the building and the risk of further collapse," Synegubov wrote.
Let us remind you that yesterday, October 30, around 22:45, occupants dropped a guided aerial bomb on a residential nine-story building in the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. The projectile struck between the 2nd and 3rd floors, causing almost the entire entrance to collapse – from the 1st to the 6th floor.
As of 5:35 AM on Thursday, October 31, one child has died, 35 people have been injured, including one child. Three individuals have been rescued. There may still be people trapped under the rubble. Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
