The Ukrainian investigative team is looking into a shocking case involving a resident of Izium, who was made a slave by a Russian soldier.
This was reported by the head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Sergey Bolvinov, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to him, in 2022, when the occupation reached the Kharkiv region, a 21-year-old girl refused the advances of a Russian soldier, which he perceived as a challenge. Following threats and intimidation, she was raped and subsequently abducted.
On June 30, 2022, the Russian came to her with armed accomplices and ordered her to pack her belongings. Refusal would mean death for her family. This is how the Ukrainian woman ended up in Belgorod, where she fell into genuine sexual slavery.
The captor locked her in an apartment, confiscated her phone and documents. The windows were barred, and the exit was under surveillance. He would come and go as he pleased, beating and tormenting her. In desperation, she attempted suicide by ingesting boric acid.
She was taken to the hospital, but even there, the girl found no rescue. She told the medical staff about her captivity, but they did not assist her. After treatment, she was returned to her tormentor.
Her escape was accidental: the occupier was detained as a deserter. Only after this could the captive contact her family and flee to Ukraine.
Currently, she is receiving care from doctors and psychologists. Investigators in Kharkiv are thoroughly examining this case. The occupier has been posthumously suspected of violating the laws and customs of war, including charges of sexual violence, illegal deportation, and enslavement. He will soon be placed on international wanted lists.
