The priest of the church in Mala Danilovka has passed away.

The rector of the church in Mala Danilivka, Archpriest Vasily Shcherban, has passed away.

This was reported by the chairman of the Malodanilovsky village council, Alexander Gololobov, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to him, due to the coronavirus and Russian aggression, the rector was unable to complete the church in Mala Danilivka during his lifetime.

"Despite the constant attempts to impose the view that the priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church support Russian ideas, Father Vasily was a true patriot. From the very first days of the war, he supported his community and rallied those around him who helped Ukraine and our military," Gololobov wrote.

The rector of the church passed away at the age of 51.
