In Kharkiv, a man attempted to kill an acquaintance during a drinking session.

A man has been detained in the Kharkiv region's Kholodnogorsk district for attempting to murder an acquaintance.

This was reported by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to police, a domestic dispute arose between the men during the consumption of alcohol. During the altercation, the assailant inflicted several stab wounds on his 44-year-old opponent.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where timely medical assistance saved his life.

Subsequently, law enforcement apprehended a 48-year-old resident of Kharkiv. The issue of imposing a preventive measure in the form of detention is currently being resolved.

The assailant has been informed of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 1 of Article 115 (Completed attempt of intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
