Russian troops have advanced along the border near Kupiansk, as confirmed by information from the Ukrainian General Staff.
This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the institute, there has been an intensification of offensive actions by Russian forces in the northeastern part of Kharkiv Oblast, close to the city of Kupiansk. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on January 19, the enemy launched attacks in the area of the settlement of Stroeve, located along the international border.
These actions indicate the advancement of Russian forces north of the village of Topolya, which is situated southeast of Stroeve. Thus, the adversary is attempting to create a threat to the positions of Ukrainian military in this direction.
Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their ground and provide a strong resistance to the enemy. The General Staff notes that the situation in the Kupiansk direction remains tense, yet under control.
